One of the most common things that turns people away from the mission to end slavery is the feeling that the problem is to big to fix. The truth, though, is that there are many things you can do to help in the initiatives other organizations have started in order to end modern-day slavery. Here are a few:
1. Call your senators.
Visit this link to find very simple, specific instructions on how to call your legislators and let them know you want them to sponsor the End Modern Slavery Initiative Act (or thank them if they already have). If you are nervous or hesitant about what to say, the link provided has an easy script for you to follow during your call. Stay tuned for a video showing just how easy this can be.
2. Lobby with us.
We need constituents from Georgia for In-District meetings with congressmen. Since we can't be everywhere at once, you can help us by meeting with congressmen (or even their staff members) to talk to them about prioritizing the movement to end modern-day slavery. Contact email@example.com to find out more and/or schedule a meeting.
3. Take the 100 Postcard Challenge
This is an extremely easy way for you to take part in the fight against modern-day slavery. According to the Freedom Commons by IJM, here's how it works:
Taking action in any or all of these ways brings us closer to ending modern-day slavery for good.
